I don't know about you, but when I find something that makes studying the bible understandable and applicable, I cling to it and implement it every time I read it. I don't want to just read the bible, I want to understand it and apply it. So, when my church started a women's bible study, I was excited to grow with other believers and to push each other to new heights. I was even more excited when we started using the Swedish Method for studying the bible. It is so easy to follow and I always walk away from studying a portion of the bible with a greater understanding than if I were to simply read it. So with that being said, I wanted to share it with you!
1) Light bulb - What is something new or fresh that shines from this passage? What stood out to you? Through reading the bible, God often reminds us of things we've forgotten and opens our hearts and eyes to something we've never noticed.
2) Question Mark - Did these verses raise any questions as you read? Search for the answers. Digging deep helps cement the word in our hearts.
3) Cross - Where do you see Jesus Christ in these verses? What in this passage helped you see more of Jesus and His cross, or what moved you to love Him more?
4) Arrow - How can you personally apply this to your life? Can you identify and commit to something you sense the Spirit is leading you to do in obedience to this text?
5) Speech Bubble - What do you see in this passage that you want to share with someone? Who do you want to share it with?
6) Puzzle Piece - Why are these verses in the Bible? Why is this passage in this particular book of the Bible? What might the Bible lose if this passage was left out? What is the authors main point?
I love this image because it makes the steps easy to remember! I like to write the questions out, but others like to draw the symbols. There is no right or wrong here, it's whatever works for you.
If you find yourself in a rut with your quiet time, give the Swedish Method a shot. I hope you will walk away refreshed, renewed, fulfilled and with greater understanding of the scriptures.

Have you ever tried something way outside of your comfort zone? Something you never imagined you would ever try? Have you ever imagined yourself throwing an axe to hit a target? Probably not, but I highly suggest you give it a try.
This past weekend Rach convinced the fam to go to Blade & Timber in KC to throw around some axes. Sounds dangerous, right?? Wrong! It was incredibly safe, exhilarating and an all around good time. Who knew throwing an axe could be so dang fun!
When we arrived, Zach (our coach at Blade & Timber) took the first few minutes to show us the basics of axe throwing - proper grip, where to stand, how to throw - and stayed with us the first few rounds to make sure we each got the hang of it. He was very personable and so encouraging. Zach came back to check on us a couple of times during our hour-long reservation and help us with our technique.
We divided our group of 6 into two teams and kept score (each ring on the target has a score from 1 to 6). First team to 50 without going over, wins. But, if you go over 50, your team score goes back to 40 and you have to keep trying for a perfect 50. The Santschi family loves playing games and friendly competition, so this unique entertainment experience was a huge hit!
Also, you can bring your own snacks and they had drinks available for purchase (no liquor). Each lane has a high top table and stools for comfortable, out of the way viewing, munching, and cheering on your teammates.
The next time you’re in KC, put Blade & Timber at the top of your things to do list. Axe throwing is a great way to celebrate special occasions, organize team-building events, or just hang out with friends and family. There's even a fun Photo Booth and cute t-shirts for sale. Rach and I had to get matching ones to sport while we are out! Blade & Timber, we WILL be back!

SURPRISE! This weekend was full of surprises and it was fantastic!
It was my husband's 30th birthday and we pulled out all the stops! The first surprise up - we hosted a huge party. Both of our families made the trek to Kansas City and so many of our friends kept the secret.
Friday night everyone filled the indoor court at Chicken N Pickle, turned off the lights and surprised the heck of out of the birthday boy.
We rented all four courts for pickleball, ordered food and drinks, played yard games, and had such an amazing night. If you haven't heard of Chicken N Pickle, I wrote about it a few months ago - check it out here.
Saturday, we had more surprises!
My husband has always had a love for planes and flying. His grandfather was a pilot so his interest was piqued at a young age and he's long been intrigued with the idea of getting his pilot's license. So, I worked some magic, found one of the best pilots in the business - Tim House, and he happily agreed to take my husband on his first ever flying lesson. Check out the video below to see his reaction!
He is still talking about this experience and I think he will for a very long time. It was definitely an unexpected surprise and an adventure he has long dreamed about. I'm so glad I got the chance to make it come true and I won't be surprised if this was just the first step toward achieving his dream of becoming a pilot. Thank you, Tim!
Later that day we made our way over to Blade & Timber to sling a few axes. Oh my goodness, my family LOVED this place. Look for a post later this week from Grace about our axe throwing escapade. It was such a blast!

Happy Valentine's Day y'all!
We each shared our thoughts on Valentine's Day, our special gifts and how we celebrated.
The part I like best about this day is that it's a day to show those you care about, that you care.
Growing up, each year, my dad would give me a box of delicious chocolates or candies and my mom would always be sure to surprise me with something special. Each gesture was a small way to show that they were thinking of me and it was always so sweet.
This year, my parents sent my brother and I some of this divine Toasted Garlic Olive Oil from our hometown in Texas. It is so good and everyone in the family has become obsessed with it. The bottle we received as a Christmas gift is long gone, so this was a wonderful surprise.
And even though I hate that roses and chocolates are extremely over-priced this time of year, or the fact that roses die and chocolates never last long around me, I love that my husband is such a prince. He spoils me rotten, takes pride in making me laugh, and always strives to make my heart happy.
So, every year, I'm always pleasantly surprised and oh-so happy to receive a special Valentine from him. He doesn't always stick to the traditional gift, but this year he did - a beautiful bouquet of roses and a heart-shaped box of chocolates! I cherish each gift he sends me because I know he loves to make me feel loved...and I love it!
And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.

I got a wonderful surprise this Valentine's Day morning. Some white roses, Reese's and Burt's Bees and a sweet card from my husband.
Every year for Valentine's Day, we plan a fun little date night to a new spot we've never tried. We talk about how we've grown together, what has made us fall more in love and what we are excited about for the next year. It's always a way to get my cup filled.
This year, we celebrated a little early and hit the town this past weekend. It was wonderful and I am blessed to be so well loved by my valentine. 💕
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

I have been living in this sweater. It is so cozy! Plus it is on sale!
Over the weekend, I searched through Pinterest - as usual - to get some healthy dessert ideas. Something that would subdue my sweet tooth, but not give me a sugar high. I've also been trying to cut dairy from my diet, so this is a perfect fit since it's dairy and gluten free. This recipe is a surefire winner!
I posted the photo below on Instagram and instantly had at least ten people ask me for the recipe. So, as promised, here it is!
1 cup rolled oats, gluten free
1/2 cup maple syrup, pure
1 cup peanut butter, creamy
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp sea salt
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 scoop of Further Food Collagen
cinnamon to sprinkle on top
I found this recipe on Build Your Bite and just had to try it! She suggested substituting maple syrup for honey or almond butter for the peanut butter, if you'd like. I also tried sprinkling some cinnamon on top while they're still hot and it adds a nice flavor.

Hi! My name is Grace and I have lived in Nashville for 4 years now. I moved from College Station, Texas with my husband Blake after he graduated college. We were only supposed to be in Nashville for 1 year, but fell in love with it and have been here ever since! We have 2 miniature dachshunds, Henry and Loraine, and they are pretty ridiculous. I am the Director of Business Development at Scout Properties, a real estate company here in Nashville. I LOVE my job. I have had a few jobs and have never really loved them, so it is a breath of fresh air to love going to work and love what I do. My sister-in-law and I write a blog together which has been a fun creative outlet and a great way to bond with her! We write about our travels, food, fashion, etc. In my free time you can find me reading or sipping on some wine with good friends. People are my jam and building relationships is the best. What’s your favorite song right now?
Ok I’ll be incredibly basic and admit it. I am loving JT’s new song Filthy. It’s a great one, you win JT. I also have had Reckless Love of God by Cory Asbury on repeat lately. Two total opposites, two great songs.
What’s your favorite style to wear?
I love all things black. It’s so easy, always looks good and is always chic. Plus it’s easy to wear to work and still look professional while easily transitioning to a happy hour after work and not looking boring.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?
Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Okkkk that’s more of a meal but let me tell ya something. It’s freaking good.
What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item that you can’t live with out?
Concealer. I love the Age Rewind that you can find at any drugstore. It’s great coverage and really brightens your eyes.
Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?
Right now in my life I would honestly have to say my boss. I know that seems very odd and random, but he is a very strong leader, loves people well, is a strong believer and a phenomenal business man. He has influenced so many lives at my company and I have reaped the benefits of working for such a phenomenal person. It’s made an impact on my marriage, faith, and just over all personal and professional development. It’s exciting to be a part of a company that is incredibly intentional in every aspect and encourages you to do the same.
What’s the one thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?
This year a big goal of mine is to read 24 books. I grew up having to read a lot for school and hated it. Now I see what a blessing reading is and how important continuing education is. So here’s to accomplishing this (for me) big goal for 2018! I’ll let you know at the end of it how I do.
If you could give someone some great life advice, what would it be?
Wherever you are, in whatever season, be all in. Live life with your hands open to God because He has so much to show you and offer you. I’m convinced that life is so much richer when you live it with this mindset.

I love this quote because it’s amazing how much influence you can have over a moment in someone’s life. It reminds me to be present, leave the best impression and love someone exactly where they are at.
Where is one place you’d love to travel to?
I really want to travel to Uganda or Sudan one day. One day I would love to go and love on the orphanages there that my home church in Texas partners with.
What drives you and gives you passion in your profession?
Working with people! I get to meet new people every single day and hear their stories. Today I met someone who met their spouse while hiking in Iceland! What?! Such a cool story. Everyone I meet in my job gives me an opportunity to connect and hear their story.
